Bands and Restrictions

One of the things that have greatly affected the world of Spicy Content creators is all the Bans and Restrictions the various platforms have in place.  These bans and restrictions do not just apply to images but also to words and topics.

If you are serious about making a business as a Spicy Content Creator you will need to become familiar with all the platforms you can use to make money with your content and as we discussed in “Marketing 101 for Spicy Content Creators” these platforms become your sales channels.

Sophieladder.com has a google doc cross-referencing all the major platforms and just what their restrictions and bans are.  At the time of this writing, Sophieladder.com has graciously made it available for all Spicy Content Creators.  Click here to view the document!    I am not sure how long it will be available or perhaps the forces at be will take it down.  Just in case I have made an archived copy that you can access by clicking here! –  But first, visit the live link as Sophie Ladder works very hard at keeping it up to date. This document is so valuable and will save you tons of time. If you have a moment send a note of thanks to Sophieladder.com.

If you want to know a little history of why all these bans and restrictions are in place then check out Episode 8: Inside Porn’s Start Chamber a Hot Money podcast by Pushkin – July 19, 2022

I hope you all have an OMG moment when you look at all the ban words and topics that are banned and restricted on these platforms.  If you had time to listen to the podcast mentioned above you will find that the payment card companies and banks are behind the bans and restrictions and behind them are the organizations like NCOSE formally Morality in Media.

Now after you have spent hours and hours scouring over all the bans and restrictions in place and you are about to just throw in the towel and give up STOP!  These bans and restrictions apply only to these platforms.  They do not apply to your own website! Let me say that again – these bans and restriction do not apply to your own website!

Remember your site is your brand.  As long as all the content you make available on your site is your content then there are no bans or restrictions.  With two exceptions, they are anything to do with child porn or Beastiality.  you should stay away from.  But anything else is fair game for you to post and monetize on your own site.  So want to post a video of you smoking a joint, while masturbating with a vibrator when you are on your period you can do just that.

Key things to remember:

  • You must have your own website!
  • All the content you place on your website should be your created content!
  • You can only post content of yourself!  If you post content that has other people you must maintain documentation on them that includes proof of age, proof that they freely participated, and a release form stating that they gave you the right to put the content on your website.

Organizations You Need to Support

Here is a list of organizations you need to support!  These organizations are fighting for your rights to keep doing what you are doing as Spicy Content Creators.

Supporting isn’t just about monetary support! You should visit these organizations and become a member.  Strength is in numbers so by being a member they can show the law makers that we mean business and can not be pushed around.  By being a member you will be alerted when your sexual freedom rights are about to be violated.

Woodhull Freedom Foundation – We are the only human rights organization working full time to protect the fundamental human right to sexual freedom.  Our work includes fighting censorship, eliminating discrimination based on gender or sexual identity or family form, and protecting the right to engage in consensual sexual activity and expression. We do this through advocacy, education, and coalition building.

Marketing 101 for Phone Sex Operators

If you plan on making a living as a “Phone Sex Operator” you need:

Branding – your persona is your brand.  There are many platforms like niteflirt, for you to use to make $ with your phonesex services. At any time, any one or all of these platforms can go away, change their policy, change their pricing and payment model, restrict what you can talk about or simply delete your account or ban it for whatever reason. And you have NO Recourse!

No matter how big you are or how wanted your services and content are they can decide to take it all away from you. Many of the phone sex platforms like niteflirt have gone out of business. Those platforms not out of business, have restricted the type of topics you can talk about on their platform.  So, who is deciding what these restrictions are?  It’s the payment processors (Visa and Mastercard) on the front and the back end is the organizations like NCOSE formally Morality in Media. Spicy content creators have been hit hard these last few years when sites like onlyfans and the clip sites started requiring proof of identity and restricting the content they were allow to post.    Phonesex operators have equally been affected by all this anti sex worker sentiment.   There is a push to requiring phonesex operators to  register their real identity and provide legal documents such as a driver’s license, passports, etc.  Without protecting such information. Who wants to have a stalker finding out who you are and where you live or the NCOSE type organizations targeting you.

So how do you secure your place in the business of a PhoneSex Operator?

If you have not already registered a domain name you need to put that at the top of your list.  It cost less than $20 per year.  Once you have your domain name you should have a website to go with it. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy but as a minimum, it should talk about who you are and the type of phone sex sessions you provide.

Then on all those platforms you have your services posted, you should include your website address. Then if any of those platforms ban you or go out of business you are still able to continue making money. More on how to do this in another article.  Many sites won’t allow you to list your website address in the text but there are ways to get around this such as the use of QR codes.  More on this in another article.

How to pick a domain name.   If you are already on platforms you already have a name. And if you are on several platforms then hopefully you have the same name or something similar. If you are on Twitter you already have a @name and hopefully, it is the same or similar to the name you are using on the platforms you are on.

This is important in the branding of your persona.   The search engines like google link all this stuff together so the more you help with that the better rankings you will receive.

So, if you do already have a common persona out there then figuring out what your domain name is is easy.  It’s the same name/word you use on the platforms with the .com at the end.  Yes, go with the .com. If it is already taken then you need to visit that site and make sure someone else isn’t pirating your content.

If there is already a site out there using the domain name you want then it is best to go with another name and not use that same name with some other TLD such as .net or .info (There are hundreds of TLD options).  Why you don’t want to just use another TLD is because that domain name may be trademarked and as such, they could come after you and sue you and take away your site after you have done all the hard work.  A quick word about trademarks – if you registered your domain name then that name can not be trademarked by anyone other than you. This includes copyrights.  They all belong to the owner of the domain name.

Ok so let’s say you don’t have much out there yet, so you have a blank slate.  Before you register a domain name you need to find out if anyone is already using it on any of the platforms you might want to use.  This includes a Twitter name @name.  One of the first things you should do is simply type in the domain name you want to see if it is being used. Check all the platforms you might want to use such as Onlyfans or the clip sites and see if anyone is currently using that name or something similar.

Once you come up with a clean domain name, you need to register it. There are many places you can register the domain name.  Godaddy.com is probably the biggest and least expensive.  They are also “adult content” friendly.  But before you jump off and register your domain name anywhere let’s first talk about your privacy.   When you register a domain name you will need to provide them with your real name, your real address, and your payment card information.  Godaddy.com offers what they call “Privacy” (additional cost) where they state that your information will be hidden and not accessible to anyone.  But just how private is their privacy?  Well, it turns out not to be all that private. Over the years there have been issues with Godaddy.com giving out the registration information for one reason or another.  No matter what they should only be giving out this information under a court order.  This goes for any registrar you might use.

One sure way to protect your privacy 100% when registering your domain name is by letting me register it on your behalf.  This way my information is the only information they have and if they are compelled to give it out (court order or not) then they give out my information.  If for some reason, I get a court order to provide information on the domain name I will alert you first and we can then decide on what information I will provide.

Because your domain name is registered by me the ownership still belongs to you. If you ever decide to move it, sell it, or whatever, you are free to do so.   My cost to you will be less expensive than a direct purchase by you.  Different TLDs are priced differently so you will need to check with me on the price. Typically a .com name is $15 per year.  30 days before the domain name renewal date I’ll email you to verify that you still want the domain name renewed. If you are interested in me registering your domain name reach out to me at worldofphonesex@gmail.com.  WordPress website with payment processing for $5 per month.

To sum up Marketing 101 for phone sex operators is this, Stop thinking of yourself as a phone sex operator and think of yourself as a BRAND and all those platforms you are using are your sales channels. Remember sales channels will come and go but your brand stands at the center of your phonesex services business.  Get your domain name and website for your brand established and let your supporters know where to find your content.

Know this – your website is your control, and all those sale channel platforms can’t ban your website!

This other nice thing about doing phone sex from your own site is that there are no bans or restrictions on what you can talk about.  More about this in another post.

PhoneSex Directory Sites

Yes, business seems to be slow, and generating new business seems to be harder and harder to do.  The search engines are no longer our friends thanks to NCOSE.  Phonesexcentral is dying a slow death, I think the only top site left that has good traffic and still has a person behind the curtain running things is Phonesexcentral. All the places like Craigslist and BackPages have stopped accepting listing / ads for adult phonesex services. There are some holdouts still accepting new listings and some rebels fighting the likes of NCOSE that are popping up and helping out the Adult Entertainment Industry.  As you find these places please email them to me so I can share them with our community.

The search engines still like directory sites as long as they are not link exchanges or backlink services.

In 2022 I created a directory site called yourphonesexdirectory.com using the best search engine-friendly app available. Many of you have listed your characters on the site. For those of you who have not taken the time to do so, if you want to get new business in 2023 you need to get listed.  I don’t charge anything for you to be listed but it is a subscription-based system. So twice a year you will be asked to log in and renew your listing – this keeps the site active with working PSOs.  There is no voting and you are not required to link back.   Current stats show that this site gets 80 unique visitors a day.

The only restrictions on yourphonesexdirectory.com are that each listing is for a single character.  If you play many characters then each one should have their own listing. Also in the site description, use this space up describing who you are, and what types of calls you do, and litter it with keywords. Don’t forget the TAGS these are the call types you do.  Now if you have a term in your tags then be sure to have it mentioned in your site description. This is just good SEO!
When completing your listing make sure the first image you upload is your standard 468×60 Phonesexcentral size banner.  You can add additional images that will be displayed on your listing page.

For 2023 I am planning to set up several similar directory sites – some will be for genre-specific phonesex.  So as I get them set up, watch for an email from me announcing the directory and if you are doing those type of sessions then submit your listing.

The first directory site for 2023 is phonesexphonebook.com  It has just been built and is ready for submissions.  This site uses a different directory engine. As such there are “Categories and Tags” – Both are already configured and you select from the options.  The category options are more of a physical description of you. Tags are the type of calls you do. This list is extensive (about 200) and was derived from search engine stats on the top keywords used by clients searching for phonesex. This directory site is for characters only.  This site is brand new so there may be a few bugs that we will work out as we grow.

I will actively be marketing these directory sites, so get your characters listed and hopefully, this will bring you new clients.

If you are a discouraged PSO don’t be.  Many phonesex sites are closing up shop. This isn’t because the business is gone away. It’s because they can’t compete with the free cam / chat sites.   If you have visited any of these services you will quickly find that the services provided by these providers are not phonesex in the sense of phonesex you provide. Your phonesex services are built on relationships and knowing what your clients want, and providing that. Your business grows with your returning clients. More on this in a later post.

A Comparison of Cam Model Content Sites I have Worked for.

Hi! My name is Lucy. I am a phone sex operator (of 20 years) turned primarily cam model (of 15 years)! I have tried many platforms over the years and wanted to share some of my thoughts on sites I would recommend trying after having years of experience with them. I’m also going to introduce the cam site I have created along with my partner that encompasses all of the areas of sex work that I love most, pays 80%, and allows more expansion than other sites, due to a light restriction on fetishes and fantasies that are permitted on the site. I’ll be covering NiteFlirt, Clips4Sale, ManyVids, and the newcomer to the webcam industry – IndieCamFans!

First, let’s compare the other sites I enjoy working on!

Site: NiteFlirt

About: NiteFlirt is one of (or maybe the) oldest phone sex sites still in business today! They added cam sometime around 2006 and later “Goodies”: a way to sell content (in addition to pay-to-views). Finally, chat (aka sexting) became an option. From phone sex, cam, video, audio, and picture sales, there is a lot you can do on NiteFlirt.

NiteFlirt is good for beginners. You will need to know some basic HTML, which is easy to research online. You will also have to learn NiteFlirt’s bidding system to be seen, but there is a lot of traffic on the site already and aside from a little learning curve on those two things, the site is easy to get going on.

Content restrictions: NiteFlirt has intense restrictions on the subject matter allowed.

Payout Percentage: NiteFlirt pays between 64 – 70% on services and content.

Site: Clips4Sale

About: Clips4Sale is an awesome video site that has been around for a long time. It’s a great place to sell any video, but also to introduce yourself to new fetishes as some of the wildest topics are explored on this site.

Clips4Sale allows you to link to your independent site. So not only are you making money selling videos on Clips4Sale, but you can drive clients to your independent site where you say, sell your phone sex and cam services!

Content restrictions: Clips4sale has moderate restrictions on the subject matter allowed.

Payout percentage: Clips4Sale pays 60%.

Site: ManyVids

ManyVids is a beast in its own right. It’s like a sex worker multi-play place and social media site as well. You can sell everything from cam shows, phone sex, sexting options and set up a membership and VIP membership. You can also livestream.

ManyVids is a great place to sell videos. Additionally, you can link back to your independent site just like Clips4Sale. ManyVids allows you to sell worn panties.

Content restrictions: ManyVids has moderate restrictions on subject matter allowed.

Payout percentage: ManyVids pays 60-80% depending on which type of sale it is.

One-Stop Spot for Cam Models and their Fans:

IndieCamFans is a new site I created, along with my partner, which caters to independent cam models and the fans who love them. Independent cam models do primarily one-on-one shows (or virtual threesomes, matching up clients with more cam models or sometimes even other clients!) via cam-to-cam platforms like Skype and Discord. Usually, you will find models doing either livestreaming or independent cam modeling, though there are certainly exceptions and IndieCamFans gives models the option to do both!

Like Clips4Sale and ManyVids, you are allowed to watermark with a link to your independent site, as long as you link back. If you don’t have an independent site, we can help you create one! Additionally, IndieCamFans allows you to sell worn panties!

Content restrictions: IndieCamFans has light restrictions on subject matter allowed.

Payout percentage: IndieCamFans pays 80%. Payouts are by request with a two business day turnaround.

Indie Cam Fans is just starting out. It’s a great time to sign up and be one of a few models when fresh traffic comes in once the site is launched!  Visit us at https://indiecamfans.com/

Marketing 101 for Spicy Content Creators

First, let’s define “Spicy Content Creators”. This is a relatively new category of adult entertainment. This category encompasses adult cam personalities, phone sex operators, OnlyFans Adult personalities, and similar sites, those providing adult clips/photos, MP3 clips, Adult Fantasy art, Adult Fantasy Stories, virtual girlfriends, etc.  All formally lump together as Sex Workers. Due to the popularity of sites like onlyfans the new term ‘Spicy Content Creator” has been adopted.   It’s a less derogatory name for anyone that provides content and or service of an adult sexual nature.

As a Spicy Content Creator, you are aware of the limitations of the platforms available for you to use to reach your target audience. It’s beyond the scope of this article to go over all the available platforms and their limitations and restrictions.  Look for a future article about platforms for spicy content creators keeping in mind that this is a constantly changing landscape. Mostly due to the attacks on our freedom of sexual expression and ability to get paid for producing spicy content.

If you plan on making a living as a “Spicy Content Creator” you need :

Branding – your persona is your brand.  There are many platforms for you to use to make $ with your content. At any time, any one or all of these platforms can go away, change their policy, change their pricing and payment model, restrict your content or simply delete your account or ban it for whatever reason. And you have NO Recourse!

No matter how big you are or how wanted your content is they can decide to take it all away from you.

Youtube did it.  Just this last year (2022)  Onlyfans the #1 adult fan service decided no more adult content even though it was making millions of $’s a month.  Then the social backlash hit and they said – ok adult content will be allowed but with these restrictions.  So, who is deciding what these restrictions are?  It’s the payment processors (Visa and Mastercard) on the front and the back end is the organizations like NCOSE formally Morality in Media.  If you have been a spicy content creator this last year you have seen every platform bow down to these pressures and remove and band some or all of your content. And we are not just referring to hardcore adult porn content. But content showing the use of legal cannabis has been banned and removed.  Content showing blood (real or fake) has been banned.  Just the talk of women being on their period or lactating has been banned.

They have also been requiring you as a spicy content creator to register your real identity and provide legal documents such as a driver’s license, passports, etc.  Without protecting such information. Who wants to have a stalker finding out who you are and where you live or the NCOSE type organizations targeting you.

So how do you secure your place in the business of a Spicy Content creator?

If you have not already registered a domain name you need to put that at the top of your list.  It cost less than $20 per year.  Once you have your domain name you should have a website to go with it. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy but as a minimum, it should talk about who you are and the type of spicy content you produce and then a list of all the places, they can acquire your content and support you.

Then on all those platforms you have your content posted, you should include your website address. Then if any of those platforms ban you or go out of business you are still able to continue making money. More on how to do this in another article.  Many sites won’t allow you to list your website address in the text but there are ways to get around this such as the use of QR codes.  More on this in another article.

How to pick a domain name.   If you are already on platforms like onlyfans you already have a name.
